Outdoor Fitness Activities
Primland is a fitness enthusiast’s paradise. From mountain biking to hiking trails, tennis to horseback riding, there are dozens of ways to get out and get moving at our Blue Ridge resort.

Fitness Room
In addition to our extensive outdoor activities, we feature a fully equipped Fitness Room on The Spa Level of The Lodge. It features TechnoGymTM Fitness Equipment and is open from 7 am – 10 pm. The Fitness room is free for all guests of our Blue Ridge Mountain resort ages 16 and older.

Private Pilates
Pilates is a physical fitness system developed by Joseph Pilates (early 20th century in Germany) who believed that our physical and mental health were inter-related. This method uses the mind, through awareness of breath, to control the muscles and focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine. Pilates improves mental and physical well-being, increases flexibility and strengthens core muscles. Work with our Pilates instructor to restore balance and improve flexibility while you strengthen bones, muscle and joints.

Chi Kung
Bring yourself into balance with this ancient healing system that was developed by the indigenous people of China to cultivate, regulate and circulate the vital life force or “ch’i” of a person. In this class you will learn to use breath, movement and intention to harmonize the body and mind with the shen or spirit. Chi Kung is the foundation of all the internal or soft martial arts such as Tai Chi and Water Boxing, so the movements are slow and gentle and easily learned in one class. Whether you are a golfer, stay at home mom, business executive or retiree, you can practice Chi Kung to release mental and physical tension, build inner strength and improve balance in body and mind.
