With Third-Place Tavistock Cup Finish
Orlando, FL (March 2013) – Primland, competing for the first time in the world club championship PGA event, the Tavistock Cup, came in third this week after a see-saw battle to the finish.
The Primland team, made up of Webb Simpson, Bill Haas, Jay Haas and Fred Couples, went down to the wire against Tiger Woods and his Albany team, losing out only on the final hole of regulation play.
But even with their third place finish, they did not come away empty handed. Webb Simpson, US Open Champion, won the Payne Stewart Salver for lowest individual score on a day when the wind made it difficult for all the contenders.
“It was exciting for us to watch as national TV audiences in North America and Europe followed the event live on both Monday and Tuesday and got to see not only some great golf but visually what Primland has to offer,” said Steve Helms, Vice President.
“Needless to say the exposure has been great for us and for the region which is bound to benefit in the months to come.”
Steve added that the timing was perfect since golf restarts at Primland April 1 with a special discount for players during the initial 30 days. Details are available by calling Brian Alley, the golf professional, on 276 222 3810.
