Primland’s altitude and the unusual clarity of our night sky present our guests with the opportunity to study stars, planets, nebulae and amazing celestial objects with an absence of ambient light.
The celebration of nature at Primland takes on an even greater dimension from the Observatory Dome. Our Celestron CGE Pro 1400 telescope provides extraordinary glimpses of the heavens and of objects beyond our solar system. A smaller Celestron telescope located in the Great Hall can also be arranged on the Terrace for views of closer celestial bodies.
Telescope and dome presentations can be scheduled during your stay as weather conditions allow. We regularly plan special Star Master Weekend programs that coincide with celestial occurrences to provide guests with a more in-depth study of the night sky.
If you would like to take a tour of the dome, we would be glad to arrange it for you. Please call 276-222-3800 for details or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Every show is unique but average length is 1.5 to 2 hours. For special accommodations or telescope configurations please request in advance to email@example.com.
In the event of inclement weather (i.e. partly to mostly cloudy, rain/snow/ice/lightning) we offer a virtual Tour of the Universe. This utilizes all the aspects of the outside show but uses saved images in lieu of the live images.
In the event of inclement weather, Starwalk will not be held.
